Add more light – that was the directive from Tydings Design Inc.’s clients in their Washington, D.C. home. After adding a sunroom and brightening the space, Tydings Design Inc. took their talents to Kravet using Mabley Hander furniture to furnish the 1930’s-era home for a relaxing vibe fit for entertaining. Here’s how they tackled the design:

Kravet’s Mabley Handler Meadow Lane sectional was the perfect choice for the long, somewhat narrow room.  It provides ample seating for six people and the clean silhouette bridges the gap between the somewhat traditional furniture of the adjacent living room and the more contemporary addition. Kravet’s Mabley Handler North Haven grasscloth sideboard, with it custom grille, provides beautiful concealed storage for all of the audio/visual equipment.

The fabric Diamondots, in Indigo, adds a focal point to the rattan club chairs. Finally, our favorite of all time, the Lee Jofa Soho ottoman, upholstered in Kravet’s Anja, in Chambray, does double duty as an indestructible ottoman with ample storage below. The cool antique ivory finish gives a totally different feeling to this traditional piece.
