Richard Ouellette and Maxime Vandal, the dynamic duo behind Les Ensembliers, have renovated their 19th home – this one they are currently spending their days in Eastern Townships, Quebec – earning them the title of House & Home’s Designers of the Year.
The cozy yet spacious vacation home in Humming Hill is for keeps, says the couple. First transformed by an American tobacco heiress in the 1960s, the sprawling estate includes a main house, coach house, stables, outbuildings a tennis court and pool house.
Richard and Maxime are currently living in the 2,000 square foot coach house, while they renovate the larger 6,000 square foot main house. It’s been a perfect project for them at a time when everyone is spending most of their time at home and working on home projects. The goal is for the coach house to eventually turn into a farm production facility – a plan already set in motion with Maxime’s vigorous planting regiment.
The design partners were able to incorporate their first fabric collection for Brunschwig & Fils into the home, featuring standout patterns LA TORTUE VELVET – PETAL and LES RIZIERES EMB – BLACK/GOLD and more.
We got an exclusive tour of Richard and Maxime’s home – see the full tour here!
