We are announcing an exciting new corporate initiative putting a strong focus on creating a sustainable future. We believe change begins at home, which is why we are making efforts to create sustainable products, as well as give back to the earth that has been so good to us over the last century. Through One Tree Planted, we are committing to planting one tree for every furniture order placed this year.
“We believe a better future is a sustainable one, so we are partnering with some great organizations to make sure we are conducting business in a way that ensures that future,” says Daniel Kravet, Vice President of Sales at Kravet Inc.
As longtime members of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, we know the importance of protecting our environment. Majority of Kravet Furniture is made from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) certified wood, meaning wood is harvested from forests in a sustainable way, avoiding deforestation and preserving forests for the future. All of our UPS shipments are certified Carbon Neutral, in an effort to offset the company’s emissions globally.
We also offer an array of products that utilize sustainable materials, such as recycled PET yarns and dyes made from vegetables instead of chemicals. More than one million recycled plastic bottles have been used in new Kravet Inc. products to date. In the commercial space, Kravet Contract has obtained the highest level of achievement, Leader Status, from MindClick, which rates the environmental health performance of manufacturers and their products.
These efforts are part of an ongoing partnership with the Good Future Design Alliance (GFDA), a community of design + build professionals dedicated to reducing total waste by 50% over the course of five years.
